The Ninevah Journal of Nursing and Midwifery follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and relevance of published articles.
- Initial Screening
Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial review to assess the manuscript’s relevance, originality, adherence to the journal’s scope, and compliance with submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic criteria may be returned to the authors without further review.
- Double-Blind Peer Review
Eligible manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The identities of both the authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the process to ensure impartiality.
- Reviewer Evaluation
Reviewers are asked to assess the manuscript for:
- Scientific accuracy and originality
- Methodological soundness
- Clarity of presentation
- Relevance to nursing and midwifery practice or education
- Contribution to the field
Reviewers may recommend one of the following outcomes:
- Accept
- Minor revisions
- Major revisions
- Reject
- Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editorial board makes a final decision. If revisions are requested, authors are given time to revise and resubmit. Revised manuscripts may undergo an additional round of review.
- Final Acceptance and Publication
Once accepted, the manuscript is copyedited, proofread, and prepared for publication. Authors are sent final proofs for approval before publication.
The journal aims to complete the review process within 4–6 weeks from the date of submission. However, the duration may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
